The CESES became an institutional member of the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions (Dublin, Ireland) and the Wissenschaftszentrum für Sozialforschung (Berlin, Germany) which undertook an international comparative survey of living conditions and quality of life in old and new EU member states.
