Our Profile
Our work at CESES focuses on the following:
· developing the theoretical and methodological foundations of the field of public and social policy and holistic forecasting,
· theory and methodology of public policy evaluation,
· strategic management in public administration and public services,
· educational policy,
· social policy (in particular, pension security, employment policy and social services),
· representative sociological surveys for practical purposes.
We integrate research and instruction by teaching at the Institute of Sociological Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University in Prague.
Since the establishment of CESES in October 2000, we have implemented or collaborated on numerous endeavours, primarily research projects but also educational projects supported by national, European and international funding. We are proud to have worked with leading personalities of Czech sociology and public and social policy, including Assoc. Prof. Jaroslav Kalous, Assoc. Prof. Pavel Machonin, Prof. Jiří Musil and Dr. Miroslav Purkrábek.
We provide long-term support to the scholarly periodical, Central European Journal of Public Policy (CEJPP; www.cejpp.eu).
As a university institute, we address the results of our activities to the expert community and to the general public. We also deliver concrete expert outputs to public administration organizations, research and educational institutions, NGOs, businesses and journalists both at home and abroad.
